[IMG]A notice posted to the Federal Register indicated that defense officials are looking for computer scientists and engineers, criminal investigators, IT specialists and security experts.

The positions will require a set of skills that span expertise in cyber, including “risk and strategic analysis, incident handling and malware/vulnerability analysis, program management … [and] cyber-related infrastructure inter-dependency analysis,” the post stated.

The Cyber Command is responsible for both offensive and defensive activities online, according to Nextgov, which reported the news.

Military leaders have expressed fears that growing demand for cyber personnel in private industry as well as the potential for renewed defense cuts could hamper its ability to mount the best force possible.

Cyber officials urged lawmakers at a hearing to ensure stability for the Pentagon’s budget as hacking threats increase.

“Where we need help from you is with resources required to hire personnel to fill the team seats as well as necessary operational and strategic headquarters operations, intelligence, and planning staffs," said Cyber Command chief Adm. Mike Rogers, also the director of the National Security Agency.
